Assignment:  Students will write a 1000-word research paper on an important person from the 20th century. The paper will focus on how or why the person has had an impact on society and what his/her major contributions were.  Five sources will be required.  Only one source may come from the Internet, but that source will not count as one of the five sources.

Time: the 100 most important people of the century (Internet site)

See the Reference Staff for suggestions of books related to specific categories, such as musicians, artists, writers, athletes, scientists, inventors, etc.
